When you are a serious athlete with Olympic dreams, good health, fitness and training are topmost priorities. For triathlete Nikko Huelgas, the magnitude of his dreams pushes him to keep a highly regimented training schedule.

Nikko started as a swimmer in high school, then entered triathlon races back in 2009. Since graduating from De La Salle University in 2014 with a degree in Marketing, Nikko has devoted himself to the life of a full-time athlete. All of his focused and dedicated hard work paid off when he grabbed the gold medal at the 25th South East Asian Games in 2015. At this event, he swam for 20 kilometers, biked for 250 kilometers, and ran for 70 kilometers. For certain, this sport is not for the faint at heart, mind and body, but Nikko says, “I love doing this sport more than anything in this world.”

To rank among the top athletes in his sport, Nikko trains, twice or thrice a day. The first training session runs from 7 to 9:30 in the morning then again from 2:30 to 4:30 in the
afternoon. Personal errands are met in the afternoon. When not training, Nikko fulfills his role as Chairman of the National Athletes’ Commission under the Philippine Olympic Committee, and also works as a commercial model for print and delivers motivational speeches.

With such a busy schedule fulfilling his different roles, Nikko has made it his priority to stay healthy and in the best shape he can possibly be. Since he already does more than his fair
share of exercise. Nikko supplements his health needs with vitamins and nutrients from USANA. Such is his confidence with USANA’s brand and efficacy of its health products that he recently signed on as its newest brand ambassador.

When asked why he agreed to become a USANA Ambassador he said, “I’ve been hearing so much about USANA in the past few years. Some of my trainees have been using it for quite some time. I’ve seen the benefit so I got really interested. I hoped for an opportunity to be included in their partnership.”

Among the USANA products he started using are Essentials for overall multivitamins, CoQuinone 30 for the energy boost. Pure Rest for faster recovery, and BIOmega. Nikko felt the benefits, of using these products during his Powerman Duathlon race, especially in terms of training, saying that his endurance greatly improved.

After experiencing the positive effects of USANA products first hand, he foresees a long partnership with the brand. “I’ve seen the effects. I’ve seen the benefits. For me, to do business with it to help the people perform better overall in their lives would be something that I would be interested in doing. I would make the world a better place through my passion with the brand and be able to influence them to live a full life.”

Nikko aims to be a three-time SEA Games gold medalist and to be the first Filipino triathlete to qualify for the Olympics, and finally, to be considered one of the greatest traithlete of his generation. With the help of USANA, the right products, proper monitoring and guidance, Nikko is confident he can fully maximize his abilities and achieve his goal of inspiring a lot of people to achieve their own dreams.
